About Jana Aukon - The Artist

Jana Aukon was born and raised in Riga, Latvia.  She has always created art in one form or another.  Under the guidance of her aunt, artist  Larisa Aukon, she began drawing and using modeling clay as a child.   Jana moved to Flagstaff in the early nineties and attended Flagstaff High School, taking every art and ceramics class.  Later Jana received a studio art minor along with a degree in Anthropology from Northern Arizona University.   She has continued her art education at CCC taking watercolor and studio arts classes and has been focusing primarily on the southwest landscape in watercolor.
